Not sure if I posted here a while back but:

I got sued by a Collection Attorney for a past the SOL Discover account. I just hit the panic button and signed whatever they told me to sign. I didn't even know the law at that point so I just settled out of fear of garnishing my wages. They lied in the summons about sending me countless letters about the debt.

The bad thing is the SOL for FDCPA has expired because they filed in fall of 2001. However I was still making payments up to this summer. One of the things I just realised I signed stated was that I agree that I owed them a debt of the amount stated in the summons.

Most likely I won't get my money back but can't I report these folks to someone ? I don't know if they even owned the debt. Discover tells me it was sold to a different party. Not sure where to go from here. What about writing the state bar ? Anything... I just want some payback.
