Letter from CRA--can't use your docs

After disputing the status of a debt on my CR, I sent a letter to the CRA with documents (court docs) that accurately reflected the status of the debt. The CRA (TU) stated that they could not accept my documents for proof. Rather, they will contact the OC (Subaru in this case) to validate the debt. Is there any question as to who they will believe? Anyone have this issue come up? How did you resolve?
