i just rec a mail from tsys total debt management, inc informing that the Chrysler Financial has employed them concerning to clear past due account balance.

this debt is going on 7 yrs January 2003, according to my husband's daughter and she filed a bancruptcy, she informed her dad this debt will be taken out the "credit report" by January.....

is a cease and desist letter applies for a reply to the collection letter we just got in the mail???

part of the letter says, "unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof, this office will: obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgement and mail you a copy of such judgement or verification...."

when i talked to Chrysler Finacial and asked for the papers of this debt was told this debt has been too long that they dont have the paperworks... so i dont know how can this CA obtain and mail us a copy of such judgement or verification?

and lastly, i wrote a cease and desist letter on the bottom of the letter rec, "i req you cease and desist in your efforts to collect on the above referenced account. it is my personal policy not to deal with collection agencies and i will nly deal with the original creditor of this account....."

is a cease and desist letter applicable to this case after all the considering factors mentioned? bancruptcy and the clearing on Jan 2003?

pls i need some more direction and help. thank you very much.
