What on EARTH do you need for an answer ?? You HAVE been given an answer !! You were given the SPECIFIC text of the FDCPA that covers your question yet you refuse to accept FEDERAL LAW ! Why ?? You don't NEED anything else. The FEDERAL LAW supercedes STATE, PERIOD ! The FDCPA CLEARLY states that you can be sued in either the state where you live or the state where you opened the account, and that's ALL. This RI garabage has NO bearing ! It ONLY refers to the banking laws that the issuer must follow in handling your account in THAT state ! Geez..... if you don't accept the answers here, and from WhyChat who is a retired attorney, then forget it.. go your own way and believe every lying CA and uninformed lawyer you can dig up !
