Arrow Financial unknown debt

Hi:
I recently recieved a collection letter from Arrow Financial for a debt from 1996. I view my credit report about once a year to check for inaccuracies and have never had an account from the company listed at any time so I am a bit confused as to where this came from. I have also cross checked the account number with the account numbers listed on my credit reports for the past five years and there is no match. I have requested verification from Arrow Financial is there anything else I should do?
