The SOL (statute of limitations) for legally collecting on a debt is 3 years in Va.dating from the last payment to the original creditor. So the legal obligation to pay anything ended over a year ago.In addition, it should drop off her credit report in another years or less. If they are still contacting her,send them the SOL letter from my website linked below.
