I was recently contacted by camco about a Bealls charge card debt from 1993. I was very skeptical about the whole debt because they seemed to have just come out of the blue. I fought with them for a few days disputing the validity of this debt. I tried doing a little research on Camco but found little info. initially. I rembered having a Bealls card but I don't remember charging $400 worth of mechandise. I will be closing on a new home in the next few weeks and can't afford to have anything negative on my credit report. Because of this fear I agreed to send a check over the telephone. Everything in me was telling me that this was the wrong thing to do. But I didn't listen. I was so afraid of having my credit ruined. After I got off the phone with camco I totally felt like I just got screwed! I began looking for more info. on camco and stumbled onto this website. I immediately stopped payment on the check to camco via my banks website. I guess my question is does anyone know if my account will be reactivated even though payment has been stopped on the check? Any info will be greatly appreciated
