CHOD....confusing CRA reports...

Perhaps one of you seasoned vets have run across this issue. I recently disputed an account listed with Experian. I rendered the partial account number from one of the 3 in 1 report deals from Equifax. I received the report and info back from Experian yesterday and to my surprise their response was "NO RECORD OF THIS ACCOUNT"...however, in the new report which came directly from Experian the account in dispute was still there but had a totally different partial account number than what was listed in the "3 in 1" package that I purchased last month. Have any of you seen this??? I was forutunate enough to get the name and address for the original creditor on the new report. Should I disupte this with them directly, with only a partial account number??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! If you need more info. let me know.. :) Thanks
