More than likely that collector is only trying to scare you. If you haven't been served, don't sign anything if it does come. How do you know they actually filed suit? Don't call them, talk to an attorney yourself from your yellow pages, your first consultation is free. Don't let them intimidate you. They have already committed a violation against you, unconscienable practices in their collection attempts will get them nowhere if you were to press charges for harrassment. Please talk to an attorney, don't speak with them at all and don't sign anything. Learn what your rights are.
