There is complete homestead exemption in Tx.
There is no wage garnishment in Tx.
File BK-keep your home.
DO NOT trade your secured home equity for unsecured dischargeable in BK debt.You credit is already trashed for the next 7 years, you will NEVER qualify for another home if you lose this one.
If you can't do BK because of the $$ coming in, (which should go 100% to clearing your mtg. arrears) you should change bank accounts and make sure your creditors have NO access to your $$ for a bank account garnishment.
