I have written about this before and was advised to seek legal advise from attorney..did that.
I have been harassed by a certain collection agency after the C&D letter. Contacted original creditor about a month ago and offered settlement and told of the ca's antics. I did not receive anymore calls until tonight at 8:30pm by this same ***hole that has been badgering me. I am so sick of being harassed. I have filed complaints with the FTC, attorney general offices, and the BBB. There has got to be something that can be done to these people. Attornies are of no use. They only want cases with big money potential. The ca knows this. They know they are breaking the law. I am in NC. I was advised what can happen if this goes to court. I know what I am going to do. It is just a matter of time. In NC, I believe they have 3 years to pursue this thru the courts. So they still have 2 and a half years. Being poor sucks. If I could pay this bill, I would have already done so. I had a sterling credit rating until my husband died after a lengthy illness. What good is the FDCPA if it is not enforced?
