Due to changes in financial circumstances, we
fell behind in car payts and car was repossessed
a week ago. Attempts to work with the finance
company have been futile. Keep being told
different things by different people...nothing
resolved. Took 3 days to find out where car and
personal belongings were. On Mon talked to
towing company who were then out of state and had
our car keys with them so could not get possessions until Tues. On Tues they tried to
say they could not do it that day either. After
threats to call an atty, they agreed to meet at
a specified place at specified time. When we
got there, they told us they could not get into
the storage unit that day but they had THE PURSE
BELONGING TO US....SAID THEY HAD BEEN CARRYING
IT WITH THEM FOR "SAFE KEEPING". They are
making it difficult to get together with them to
obtain our personal belongings...drivers license,
checkbook, ATM card, etc. Is this legal...to
carry our purse with them for 3 days??? Has
anyone had any luck working with a finance company
to get the car back and avoid the inevitable
(bankruptcy)???? Need help right away...time
is moving right on. I feel SO frustrated...
SO desperate...don't know where to turn. Cannot
afford high atty fees.
