Hi Valerie,It was 7 months after we got the charge off letter that we got the summons to answer the complaint. If we did not answer the lawyer then a judgement would automatically be brought against my husband. We sent an answer letter and filed it in municipal court with a settlement offer. By us sending that letter it then went to court. That is when we had the meeting and came up with a settlement agreement. Today we got the consent papers to sign so the payments could start BUT,they had wrote in the amount as $3,232.328 Instead of,$3,232.32 like it is supposed to be so I will be calling them tomorrow and telling them to draw up the papers again with the right amount listed before we sign anything(actually my husband,the card is his). So thats where we stand right now,they really dont wait to long before they try to bring a judgement against anyone. Good Luck!
