No -you do not get a court appointed lawyer for civil suits.

I would make sure the CA who has filed suit against you has all the correct account information, if it was a FEDERAL guarantee student loan-there is no SOL, I don't know about State student loans, I suggest you request the statute that says that for proof of their claim.

If you don't know what you are doing when you are in court, and can't find help, you can request a continuance to give you time to find legal assistance.
