Normal wear and tear is not grounds to collect damages. Normal wear and tear means what would be expected through normal use/occupancy...your LL can't collect on this. They are probably trying to say you went beyond NORMAL wear and tear. That you actually damaged the unit beyond what you paid as a deposit. That's why you need to fight it in court. Most times landlords try to get you to pay for NORMAL wear and tear by hiring a collection agency to harrass you. Stick to youor guns..If you've sued..follow through and make them prove you owe.
