Indeed a Validation letter is what is needed - It will provide you with the name of the original creditor - the amount owed - the intrest applied and the amount that was originally owed before charge off.

Frankly you took responsibility for that intrest when you accepted the contract and signed your name. The fact you wish to close your eyes to them now only shows lack of responsibility.

No offence intended - It is mearly to give you a diffrent scope of view - instead of the overwhelming "those who gave you the trust in the first place - who extended a loan or credit to you must now be the enemy because the fees you agreed to pay have now over whelmed you".

If the debt had never been defaulted on - the intrest and fees would never have gotten the way it is now.

Just an outside view.

An old contract is still a contract untill satisfied by payment or by death - at which point the estate may be collected upon if one exists.
