They MUST allow you the 30-day dispute period in their first communication. NOT including the notice that you are allowed to dispute is a violation of the FDCPA.

I received letters from 2 CA's that failed to include this notice, so my validation letter is also going to include some verbage that tells them *I* know they violated the laws and I will pursue legal action if they continue to violate.
