Don't talk to them anymore. except to get their company name and address. Even just the name, we can find the address.

Then send a validation letter. That forces them to prove the account is yours. Doesn't matter that you know it is, validation is your legal right. BUT it makes you much less attractive as a target, and they will most likely go on to find someone else who doesn't know their legal rights, and sell your debt to another CA, and you can do the same thing to them. The more times this happens the better off you are. The older the debt gets, the better off you are

Validation letters work very well.
