Even a relatively weak defense will prevail if your only evidence is a statement. Defendant could claim statement error, paid after statement date, fraudulent statement, not me, etc. and the burden will fall on you to back that statement with something other than a flowery complaint. Please come after me with only a statement as evidence/exhibit - I would truly enjoy hearing a judge trash a collection attorney and/or wannabe for wasting the court's valuable time.
