"Purge", I am not going to continue this "flame war" with you but before I go on to help others who DESERVE it allow me to give you some insight into my way of thinking. For starters, I do NOT use credit cards any longer. I have gone through the mess that many others on this board are going through presently. Unfortunately, when I was in my situation, I did not have the knowledge that I have now. I know much more about the debt collection industry and the credit industry as a whole because of this board. I give many thanks to all who post helpful advice (you know who you are) and I try to help others in return. Like others on here, this is not a full-time endeavor, I do this whenever I can because I believe that it is right. My "X-mas shopping list" has been paid for with good old-fashioned greenbacks. when I purchase my next automobile, it will be paid for with a cashier's check, not with a loan. My attitude is that when I buy a car, I am doing exactly just that, and my intention is to NOT give a single farthing to a bank or other financial institution. I am purchasing a CAR for ME, not supporting some bank manager's salary, which is where the "interest" would go. I have changed my life so that the only time I will need credit is when I apply for a mortgage or for a catastrophic emergency that (hopefully) will not happen. Basically, I have had it with the credit industry and particularly the debt collection industry. As Judge Joe Brown said on one of his shows: "Some of the sleaziest, deceptive people you will ever run into are those that collect debts." He is correct.
