"reopen" the SOL ? I suspect they meant the judgment can be renewed, as that's the only way the SOL could be extended. They most likely won't accept 5.00 a month, it would take far too long to pay off the debt and they probalby won't sit for that, they'll insist on much more than that. He should get his financial status laid out so that he can show how much he can or cannot pay. "medical bankruptcy" ? - no such thing. If he decides to file for bankruptcy, he has to claim ALL his debts, not just the medical bills.. unless that's all he has. On the other hand, if the medical bill was considered part of child or spousal support, he won't be able to discharge it anyway.
