Actually, unfortunately, you are mistaken. The reason I always tell people to DISPUTE in their "validation" request, is because it is only the DISPUTE part that freezes the collection activities. In addition, several cases have held that even if NO validation notice was sent, the creditor can file suit. I have linked a typical caselaw on this topic.
