If you own your home jointly with your spouse,and the debt is in your name only, you may wish to consider (after talking to your lawyer) letting it go to judgment instead of filing BK. There is no garnishment of wages in your State,you would not need to give up your other credit accounts,there are pretty good exemptions for cars etc. and if THEY are owned jointly, they may be attachment free also.In addtion, a judgment in your State is for 10 years- non renewable,and would only stay on your credit reports for 7.
