SOL for FL Repo

Can anyone tell me what are the SOL for a car repo for FL? Is a car repo a written contract or an open account? Also, my car was repo when I was only 2 months late and was willing to make the two month payment but, since the bank was being sold to another, I guess they wanted to close all the accounts. So they didn't even allow me to make the payments, insisting that, to get back the car, I had to pay the remaining balance. I have a CA on my back now ...
