Credit card company suing me

I recently was served with papers that I was being sued in small
claims court for a credit card debt with Providian. I am scared
& don't know what to do. I am going through a divorce & have lost
my job & I can't afford to pay right now. I am currently living
with my sister & all I have is my car which I am still paying
for. I live in Texas & so much has happened in my personal life
this past year that I can't exactly remember when I last paid
on this account but I believe it was appx. 3-02 so I know the
SOL has not
expired for this debt. My husband incurred part of these charges
& agreed to help pay but he hasn't. He is not an authorized
user on this acct nor does he have a card on this acct so
I know that he can't be made to help repay. I am scared to go
to court but at the same time am scared not to. The papers I received
do not have a court date to appear. Any help is greatly appreciated.
