I'll try to make this short.. without excuses...
We had major financial problems since my husbands layoff a year ago and had several NSF checks go into collection. The collection agency debited from our checking account the amount of the original checks, without our authorization. Ok.. fine.. I let it go, however, today i noticed they withdrew another $350 from our checking account. I did not authorize this nor did they inform me they were going to do this. Because of this I have other checks that I have written that are now going to bounce which involves more bank charges and return check fees and so on and so on... we've been so careful now that our financial situation has improved. My question: can collection agencies go into my bank account and deduct their commission fees without my authorization or without them notifying me? There in no court order or judgement for them to do this. Anyone have any answers or suggestions?? I've researched several sites and need something to take to my bank to disput these withdrawals. HELP!!
THX
