I would STRONGLY urge you to NOT contact any of these creditors in any manner EXCEPT to notify them in writing CRRR that your mother is deceased and the estate is insolvent. Have the probate attorney's office send out these letters, NOT YOU. Include a photocoy of her death certificate.

If your name has changed, or if your ss # was not given to any of these creditors, you may avoid the possibility of being connected to these accounts.

Make sure that the probate lawyer has ALL correspondence going through his office, and that your name and address are only given when absolutely required for legal documents.

DO NOT call any of these people, as caller id can get them your name and address very easily.

It will be well worth the extra legal fees the lawyer will charge to do this to avoid any opportunity for these collection agencies or creditors to attach you to these accounts.
