I have looked at several credit reports and have a particular interest in one account. The CC reports on Experian as a charge off as of 9/97 and then follows with an charge off date of 10/98. I've compared it to an equifax that I ran in 10/98. At that time, the Equifax report showed almost a two year string of lates without ever being caught up but there is a skip in 1997 where it looks like it was reaged from an R-5 to an R-2. In other words, several months of R5, several of R4, etc. until you've worked backwards to an R-2 entry. The experian is scheduled to fall off 10/04. On the Equifax report it has a charge off as of 11/96. The TU has a DOLP on a 98 report that makes no sense-- why would a payment be made and then the account be charged off. The preceding month was an R-5 and I hadn't paid for several months--early 97 was my last payment by virtue of all the records that I have pieced together.
The entire account entry looks like several idiots got together and tried to figure out how to confuse me.
Why would a CC post a false charge off date almost a year later? To bomb my scores?
