I just read the SOL time limits and want to make sure that I understood this correctly. This debt is 18 years old. The SOL prevents them from from filing a lawsuit. But is does not prevent them from putting it on my credit? The Statute Of Limitations only covers lawsuits, and SOL expiration does not affect other types of collection action or reporting of the account to credit bureaus. The creditor or collection agency may theoretically continue with letters and telephone calls forever. Is this what I am reading? Thanks!
