Yep.... I know all about them. Platinum Financial Services is really operated by a law firm called Wolpoff and Abrahmson out of Rockville MD. I have physical proof of this as I had to do a lot of investigation on them.

One thing I can tell you is as of last Nov, Platinum Financial Services didn't have a collection agency license. I spoke to the Commissioner of Financial Regulation himself and he told me, businesses which purchase accounts receivables, which Platinum list their business as, must have a collection agency license.

Things might have changed since then but I doubt it. You might want to work from this angle.

Maybe WhyChat can help you with your summons but I'm just giving you the 411 on these scums. I was sued by them also but at that time I didn't know the law and hit the panic button and settled. Turns out the debt was past the SOL. I'm bitter about that till this day. So you can see I have a "soft" spot for them lol.

If you need any help just hollar. I suggest you check on this firm's status of as a collection agency and file complaints with the State of Maryland. Did you ask them to validate ? Being that the summons has been served I'm not sure you can still do that.

Wait for WhyChat to help you a bit from that angle.
