I was reading David in CA's post concerning the clock stopping. I know this is the case for criminal matters but does this apply to debts also?

For example I incur debt in NY and default, I move to NH. Can I still raise the SOL if I'm pursued for this debt while in NH or does the clock truly stop until I return to NY. I remember reading somewhere that "tolling" the statute of limitations does not apply to interstate commerce.

Please advise. I'm sure a A FEW of us are in this situation.
