The judgment will stay on your CR for 7 years, that is right. For the most part, it doesn't matter what state you're in, but I think NY has something that says it must come off in 5, but I'd have to check on that. Other states may do the something similar.

The other SOL's for judgments refers to the term that they are enforceable, and in some states they can be renewed for additional terms, so they can last a LONG time and they can come after you as long as it has not expired.

As for moving to another state, the SOL for the state it was issued in would prevail IF it is not domesticated to your new state. In that case, I believe the SOL for the 'new' state would then apply - WhyChat can probably confirm or deny that.
