JM10101 is correct and jboles is full of it. IF your State is one of the FEW that has a shorter time than 7 years for judgments to be enforced, AND it is not renewed, then you can have it removed from your credit report. Some States also require removal of PAID judgments (and paid tax liens) 5 years after the payment date. Paying a judgment does NOT remove it from the public record, or your credit report. If your State has a longer period of enforcement than 7 years for judgments, even when it is off your credit report, it is still enforcable and will show up if you are buying or refinancing a home, as they check public records for stuff like that besides checking credit reports.
