Your CA friend is correct, 99% of the time the cc companies will NOT challenge a discharge unless there were significant charges run up prior to filing, then they may scream 'fraud'. That's why you STOP using any credit card at least 90 days prior to filing. In the BK law, it states that any charges made 60 days prior to filing may not be dischargeable, especially if they are 'luxury' items.

The most I've heard about is Sears pushing reaffirmation agreements (though not as aggressive recently), BestBuy and possibly Circuit City doing the same. AMEX challenged but the guy had run up 5K in charges prior to filing... AMEX still lost btw.

So.. quit using credit cards at least 90 days before you file and you should breeze right through.
