Just recieved the following from Oregons Regulatory agency: Thank you for sending us your complaint. However, the Oregon Department of Justice does not have jurisdiction regarding this matter. The Fair Debt Collection Act is a federal law that the FTC oversees. You can file the information with them, but they will not actually intervene in your behalf. You should contact the Colorado Attorney General's office to determine what Colorado's laws regarding debt collection are. The Colorado Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division number is 1(800) 332-2071.
I'm missing something i.e. Did I go to the wrong Agency, I thought the Department of Justice in Oregon was the equivalent of an AG in most other states? Why would Colorado have jurisdiction over a company in Oregon?
