1st id make very sure its a REAL court summons becouse SOMETIMES they try to simply scare you into thinking your being sued so id call the courthouse which your to appear to make sure its real but if real you must answer it , at least i would .. from what i understand about florida law they can not touch your home reguardless if its worth as little as 40,000 OR as much as 40 million florida & texas both have THE BEST laws in the country for protecting a home that is actually lived in & used as your main residence .. wage garnishment under florida law is a 100 % total exemption for " the first 500 dollars " for someone whom is head of household than ONLY 25 % of over that can be garnished at worst meaning if a head of household is making 800 per week than 25 % of the 300 OVER the 500 may be garnished by the creditor in meaning only 75 . per week but its a hassle for almost nothing so cant see them doing that but some do so depends .. im sorry i cant answer your question about the checking account but IF your autos are basically new & paid off i could see them doing what they can to get their money out of them BUT if older autos & even financed i think your fine .. im sorry to hear about your troubles but weve all been there 1 way or another at 1 time or another but the good news is that your in about the best state possible along with texas to have these problems becouse there both VERY consumer friendly states & you have more rights under those 2 states laws than in any other state .. hey im by far no expert & its just my opinion but lots of luck !! kelly ......
