Originally there was a 800 dollar debt to citibank that was paid right before chargeoff, but somehow Risk Management Associates started calling me trying to collect on it. I sent them a validation letter, certified mail return reciept, and never heard from them again. Then a couple months later I started getting letters from National Financial Systems, for the same "debt" This evening someone from NFS called and left a message on my answering machine saying that not paying my debt was a serious offense, and that if I didn't call them immediately they were going to have the local sheriff visit my home and arrest me in front of my family for credit card fraud. I am not making this up. They actually left that message on my answering machine- I still have it. Is there any way I can use this recording to sue these bastards and make them pay? My 14 year old daughter played the message before I returned from work and she was scared to death and crying when I got home this evening.
