Has any one heard of a collection agency by the name of Capital Acquisition, located in Schaumburg, IL? They called me wanting to pay a debt dated back from 1995. This is the first time that I heard about this debt. Since 1-2-03 when they first contacted me at my office & also my ex at his office, they asked us both to pay that day or would garnish our wages. I did ask for them to mail or fax me copies of the paperwork, but still haven't rec'd. a thing. (I am almost finished writing my letter to them to please stop contacting me, etc. etc.) They keep calling both of us at our jobs, even though we told them not to call. (I just tell them to stop harassing me and hang up.) This past Wed. I got a call from the sheriff's office?? saying that I will be served papers for a summom's tonight for the debt and the female on the other end said that I should just pay the bill, since it was mine and that I should be at home. No one came Wednesday, nor Thursday. Then Friday morning, another person calls saying that she is with the county and wanted to know why I was not at home. - It wasn't until then I realized that this must be "Capital Acquisition" calling. (Both time they mispronounced the county where the sheriff dept was in) Pretty funny I thought. Any suggestions? Do you think that since this dates back from 1995, that the statues of limitations would apply? Thanks for your assistance!
