Absolutely NOT, not even in a community property state. Even there, debts incurred prior to the marriage are separate debts. Even after you're married, unless you're in a community property state or unless you open joint accounts, you are NOT responsible for each other's debts. Marriage, in most states, does NOT make you automatically liable for each others debts.
