Its not unlawful for a company to refuse payments.

Is this Capital Aquisitions and Management Company (CAMCO, known here a SCAMCO) ??

DO NOT let them draft your account !! Stop it NOW.

First, they are only making nasty ILLEGAL threats !! Read the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and learn what they cannot do and what your rights are.. NOW !

It is illegal for them to demand ANY kind of post-dated check for a date more than 5 days ahead of time and if you do they MUST notify you that they are going to use the check. CAMCO will NOT abide by the law. One woman here agreed to $50 payment and gave her banking info and CAMCO took $500 !! They will take EVERYTHING they want and you'll have a helluva time getting it back ! CAMCO isn't the only scum-sucking CA that will do this, but they are amongst the lowest.

Call your bank ASAP and put a block on ANY transactions to/from this company, especially electronic ones.

DO NOT agree to ANY kind of settlement unless you have a signed agreement FIRST. They LIE, LIE, LIE so unless you have all the terms in writing you have NO backup. They can sell the balance and come after your sister later !

CA's can NOT sue you, only the original creditor (in most states) is allowed to sue. A CA cannot make threats of legal actions they do not intend to take or cannot legally take. In most states they CAN'T sue you, its purely a threat to scare you into paying.

If your sister can manage to make payments, she needs to send a settlement offer or payment plan offer, in terms she CAN afford, and send it certified RRR mail.

Chances are good they can't sue.. and for that balance probably won't sue ! Don't be a victim.. you have rights under the FDCPA !
