I'm trying to find out information regarding a law passed a couple of years ago stating the creditor could not extend your negative debt another 7 years. Example, if I had a deliquent bill in 1997 and didn't pay on it until 1999, there was a time when they could use 1999 as the date of last activity meaning, you would still have negative credit for another seven years. They can no longer do that but I need to see that statement in writing. Thanks for your help!
