I live in Florida and have 50,000 in cc debt. I have had illness in the last 3 months, have had hours cut. I have notified all cc companies by letter of my situation. Have kept current on mort. car, ect. things i know are secured by loans and have only paid 25 a month on cc since sept. 2002.I want to know what the steps are as far as what will happen next. Will the cc companies charge off the accounts, then turn them over to a collection agency, and then file a lawsuit to get a judgement, and garnish. Can wages be garnished in Fl. can they attach a checking account held jt. but my name first? My husband filed bk 2 years ago. I can't file bk. The house has a 1,2, and 3 mort. the cars have loans. I have an asset which I own but is in a partnership, and dont want to jepardize that...by bk.When do I go to settlement.. at what point..do i negotiate. Would I be better off filing ch. 13, or waiting to settle. I am trying to save money each month so I can offer settlements. I just want to understand the procedure, and what comes next. If theres some othe websites to lookinto I would appreciate their web addresses. Please, Laynred and Why Chat. help me put things in perspective, I'm in over my head. Thanks Victory
