Yes, I received the following letter first, and e-mailed a second question with regards to out-of-state CA's and received reply from the same person. NJ State - Business Division Telephone: (609)633-8257 Fax (609) 984-6681 I inquired whether Federated Collection Bureau was bonded in the State of NJ. Response: State of New Jersey Department of the Treasury Division of Revenue P.O. Box 452 Trenton, NJ 08625-0452 PETER R. LAWRANCE Acting State Treasurer DONALD T. DiFRANCESCO Acting Governor October 10, 2002 Consumer New Jersey Dear Mrs. X I am in receipt of your fax dated October 2, in reference to a collection agency bond. The Division of Revenue, Business Support Services is resposible for the filing of all collection agency bonds within the State of New Jersey. After a thorough search of the Bureau's records, we are unable to verify a valid bond for Federated Collection Bureau, Inc. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at (609) 633-8258. Monica Jacobasz Supervisor After reading a post from this board that stated that State bonding laws apply only to CA's located in that specific state, I e-mailed the State of NJ again for clarification on the bonding issue and out-of-state CA's. I posted the e-mail response above.
I posted the telephone and fax info in case anyone would like to contact them.
