Mike , i agree with Hollie in that living in Texas is the best possible state for being in debt with credit troubles becouse really as she mentioned not much they can really do except try to scare you with empty threats which of course IF YOU LET THEM they'll do .. if i were you in your situation id do nothing EXCEPT get a phone with caller ID & simply ignore the slugs & all " unknown & out of area calls " meaning ONLY answer the phone for someone you know & EVEN if you like maybe get a cell phone & only give out THAT number to family & friends for an emergency or something really important so not to WASTE your time with collection slugs , CONTROL YOUR PHONE DO NOT LET YOUR PHONE CONTROL YOU .. the statue of limitations in Texas on credit card debt is 4 years in meaning from when you LAST made a payment on your credit cards in about 4 years from that date under the law you no longer OWE THEM ANYTHING becouse they can no longer legally collect the money in ANY court .. can they still sue you after the 4 yr SOL expires ?? sure they can but i can sue a tree stump wont win that suit either .. breath easy , sometimes bad things happen to good people but just my opinion here ....... goodluck , kel ...
