I do not know where you obtained your legal knowedge "John", however, I suggest you get a refund on the Crackerjack box.

Aside from the obvious abiity to attach or garnish her account as community property first- and require proof that it is NOT community property afterwards, there is also the Tx Fraudulent Transfer Act.

For a pretty good outline of ALL of the pitfalls, here is a TEXAS legal website.

As a further note, wage garnishment IS legal in Tx for student loans and other Govt. obligations.

By the way, I DO NOT suggest e-mailing a stranger for "help" and risking possible misuse of personal information- or getting involved in some ripoff scam.
