I need some help here. I rent an apartment in Florida with my wife and daughter. I had a lot of credit card debt when I was in college (no student loans). I have a total of 10 credit cards. 9 are paid up to date and are current. But I keep receiving phone calls from a collection agency saying they are an attorney's office. I have told them that I can afford $125 per month and when I get some more money I will pay it off as quick as I can. They just keep telling me they are going to take me to court and sue me. I tell them there is nothing else I can do, take the $125 a month or leave it.
Here is my question. Can they sue me if I just send in the $125 a month anyway. Even without an agreement. I thank you in advance for your advice.
Thanks
