I have a quick question. I got a call from a Collection Agency saying I owed them $1200. It was from the college that I went to in 1984. If I remember correctly - this wasn't a student loan. It was a promisary note. Well - They called and I told them to send me everything they had in writing. They said for me to call them when I got the papers to make payment arangements. I got a "ledger" in the mail today. I assume it was from the collection agency - but I don't know for sure. It didn't have any type of letter head on it or anything. I do have a return address from them though. My question is - should I send them the letter asking for a copy of the orginal contract that I signed - or should I just ignore? I believe I paid this off in 1990 but have no proof. I know the SOL dosnt apply to student loans - but I believe this was a promissary note. It is a ledger - they put on it charges from lunch room fees - book fees etc.....
So - any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
