The debt under judgement is from our first child which was 4.5 years ago. Payments have been made along the way, but not to the liking of the creditor. We live in the state of KY. Thank you for the advice against credit counseling. The commercials make it sound appealing, but apparently they are not.

This weekend we received an invite from our Mortgage company (Chase) offering 0% on purchases and BT for a year. Do I have any better chance getting a card from them? I know it is only an invite, just wishful thinking. I have not yet submitted my application.

Is a re-fi something I could look at? My mortgage is only 1 year old, so I have assumed the answer is no to this point.

I have been trying to pay the judgement creditor off first, but due to the amount we have been trying to pay them, our other bills have fallen behind, so now we are receiving phone calls from just about everyone. I do not feel that we are in a position to fill for BK, but I do feel that we would be better off if there was a way to consolidate, by whatever means, all of our debt to one or two accounts, thereby having only one or two payments to make.

Again, thank you for any advice.

Mark
