I have been contacted by NCO re: an old debt. They have just received the info from the OC and their policy is to report it to the CRAs after 45 days if it has not been paid. I have agreed to pay it, as I have been working very hard to clean up my reports. However, I am wondering if, even if I pay it before it is initially reported on my CR's, if NCO can STILL transmit this info to the CRA's and report it as a paid collection. Can they do this?

I have agreed to pay and have drawn up an agreement that states if they accept my payment, they agree to not report it in any way. There are other stipulations as well (pmnt in full, no guilt/wrongdoing, etc). The agreement states that if they proceed with accepting payment, then they may not ever report it. In our state, this is binding.

I just need to know if, without this agreement, they can still report it...even if they say they aren't going to. Just watching my own back.
