I have 1 more payment on an over $3,000 judgement. I was told by the lawyers office that they will send me a letter stating that the judgement was satisfied and file with the courts but I have to send copies to the Credit report companies (Equifax, Experian...) IS there any way I can get the word "Judgement" not to appear on my credit report? What effect does a judgement that has been paid in full have on my credit score? and for how long? I want to buy a house next year and I need to know if this will effect me getting a mortgage. ALSO...I had a call from the lawyers office stating the MY bank sent them a letter that my account was closed (which it is not). I asked for a copy of the letter which was refused. I called the bank and they said they would never send a letter to anyone stating my acct. was closed if it was....so, is the lawyer's office lying or the bank? I believe I should be able to get a copy of this so called letter.
